Great study guide for the FCC GROL exam element 3. There are really good explanations of all the questions and answers and some good tips and tricks. I was able to pass the exam the first time by using this study guide and some online practice exams. I downloaded the Kindle version for $9.95, but the 7 inch screen on my Kindle Fire 7 was kind of small to read the included schematic diagrams. But no problem reading it on my 11.6 inch Chromebook with the Kindle reader app. I was able to read this eBook on multiple devices after paying for it once. For element 1, I didn't need to use a study guide like this. The online practice exams were enough for element 1.
Excellent review/study guide for the written examination element 3 of the FCC's Commercial Radio Operator License Program which is required for the General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL). I highly recommend using Mr. Clem's book "Plain English Study Guide for the Marine Radio operator Permit" for written examination element 1, which is the other element required for the GROL. Both provide the basic information you need to pass the test, no more no less. You may need other resources if you are unfamiliar with basic electronic components and circuits.
Took the Grol test this is was one of two things i needed to study on . the electronic parts were my weak points. Had not done studied in years. this was relatively easy when you put your mind to study every day a few minutes a day

Simple and to-the-point study guide for Element 3 of the FCC test.Very effective for Me.The kindle version had a few formatting issues. ie, The correct answer on more than half the questions was NOT bold, and the answers did not line up correctly with the corresponding letter on several questions. But not the author's fault.The title fits the product, get this if you want to pass the GROL.
Great book but lousy formatting but even so I am rating it 4 stars. I have the Kindle version and many times one could not tell what was the correct answer because the 'bold' didn't show up highlighting the answer. Otherwise, the book was great! So great that I am considering purchasing the Paperback copy to have as a reference.
Easy to read! I am not much of a reader- this book has good flow and "regular" people information. I wasn't lost while reading even the more difficult sections. Great book for those of us that have problems staying focused while reading. I am and have always been a hands on learner and generally don't get much out of reading.
It breaks down the theory behind the questions and helps me understand them rather than just memorizing them. There are a few typos but they don't seem to take away anything.
